Chikan embroidered Saree has an intricate needle hand work done by women artisans. It takes roughly around 3 months to complete a single piece of Chikan Saree specially on pure fabrics like Georgette. Chikan Saree on Georgette is quite in fashion now and is worn by various celebrities and elite as it offers great elegant look, and is a pure art and craft master piece. Chikan Embroidered Saree in Georgette and Chiffon can now have embellishments like Mukesh / badla / Kamdani to give a shinning look to the Chikan Saree. The Georgette natural color is off white and white and by the special DYE process in Lucknow the Saree can be coloured in any color of choice along with thread being of a different color. More recently Chikan Sari are having silk borders and are also made on Tusser silk, Silk and other fine fabrics.
